Quantitative Data Collection for Midline Assessment ACT Phase II
The field visit was carried out from 29 September to 2 October 2025 in Bena, Meusin, and Motaulun Villages, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT). The main objectives were to conduct quantitative data collection for the ACT Phase II midline study, test and refine the KoboToolbox questionnaire, and supervise enumerators and the midline consultant in the field.
The team began with enumerator training and supervision in Bena Village, followed by fieldwork and tool revisions after each trial session. Subsequent visits were conducted in Meusin and Motaulun Villages to continue training and data collection.
Throughout the visit, field adjustments were made to accommodate travel conditions, respondent availability, and coordination with local partners. Despite challenges in locating some respondents in Bena Village, overall data collection proceeded smoothly and achieved high completion rates in Meusin and Motaulun Villages.
Rekomendasi dan Tindak Lanjut
1. Questionnaire Review and Finalization
Quantitative field monitoring and trial runs were conducted to verify data collection tools. A total of 11 versions of the KoboToolbox XLS form were reviewed and refined after each village session. The finalized version now captures all relevant and essential information for project monitoring.
2. Database Clarification of Livelihood Groups
Field verification revealed that several PWWWD livelihood group databases contained overlapping entries — with multiple families listed under the same beneficiary. It was recommended to clarify and reformat the database. A follow-up discussion will be held with the Program Manager to determine whether household member status should be specified.
3. Response Rates
The percentage of respondents successfully interviewed was:
• Bena Village: 60% (limited due to villagers still being away)
• Motaulun Village: 100%
• Meusin Village: 100%
4. Midline Consultant Supervision
The field visit also included supervision of the midline consultant. Data collection activities were conducted smoothly. Enumerator work generally started at 09:00 and ended at 16:00–17:00, with flexibility to conduct evening interviews (19:00–20:00) to accommodate village or district officials’ availability.
5. Online Follow-up Interviews
Some respondents from village government offices were unavailable due to sudden official duties. These will be followed up through online interviews (Zoom/Teams) in the subsequent week.
